Antanas Jasenka is a Lithuanian composer and sound artist who has been active in a plethora of musical purposes for over 20 years. "Sonic Machine" is a work that expands his sonic research concerning the Man and the Machine.
Antanas evokes a whole variety of different emotions through constant structural changes in sound and composition. In this context he does not shy away from infusing his music with ambient, abstract, rhythmic, glitch and at times even powerful noise influences. The strange, outworldly harmonics that float throughout this album are infective in their own unique way.
Lots of views, details and musical concepts are combined in such an unusual, "experimental" way that it may take some adaptation at first, but that should certainly not stop you from discovering the intrinsic beauty in this work.
Already a netlabel favorite, Melissa Welch is back at camomille with her second release, an 18 minute track that dwelves into many movements; dynamics are well-explored here as Melissa takes you through a multitude of tones and environments as the sound waves build paintings of childish constructions and deep, cavernous tunnels. Maintaining all throughout this ep an ambiguous sound, always twisting and turning between cute/nostalgic and happy/dark, Melissa Welch keeps reminding us how organic and personal her sound is with this ep filled with layered beauty, hip-hop and idm beatwork, original synthesis and inspiring vocals.

Daniel andréasson enters the realms of Candy Mind with a suitcase full of mixtapes, a French phrase book and a bunch of other things that we are not allowed to mention here. He has recently escaped his everyday life as a...ok, well we are not allowed to write about this either so... Well, let´s just say that we found him wandering about our neighbourhood and then we...no, sorry, STOP - we´re in deep water again...this is too much to write about even for us... Hmm, you know what? We had better let the music speak for itself.
14 artists from all over the world taking part in this compilation for a very personal occasion and giving their impressions for this wonderful and unique day in life.

Stalker - "The Unsecret Stories of Lady M." | As co-founder Mirsch was responsible for 1bit 001, the circle of our first year closes with the debut EP by the other half of 1bit: After Stalker's much appreciated contribution to the compilation on 1bit 006 ("Introducing Savya"), many of you will be happy to hear more of his deep minimal stuff. It's a very personal release, not necessarily made for dancing but definitely something for your heart and brain. And for those of you who prefer lounge sounds with a whiff of pop, Kultobjekt's remix of "Introducing Savya" might be exactly your cup of tea... | 4x MP3, 256kbit/s, whole release including cover as ZIP-file: 50.9MB. «In the first half of the twentieth century, the basic concepts of contemporary art and avant-garde were almost automatically connected to the ideology of progress. New York was the center of the world, a center "illustrated" by the gestures of Pollock's action painting, by the dripping of Kooning's grotesque work (see Women) and by a vast supply of right hemispheres capable of creating an equal whole without a central focus.
Music gave birth to Feldman and Cage, Busoni's pupils, and all of them were improvising textured pieces, registries and intervals, some of which with more than 6 hours.
Kenneth Kirschner, since he begun his recent work with Taylor Deupree, has demonstrated that if he was more than 60, he was surely to be a member of the New York School. In this particular improvisation work, Kenneth samples and manipulates some tail piano's notes, while British duo Minus Pilots picks up where he left and tries to tame the empty spaces, through a minimal digitalization, almost microscopic and microtonal. This experimentalism-based sound ornamentation is able to establish some kind of well structured "open source", but capable of an entirely non-patterned functional freedom, for a sound progress without an end, just like in Feldman's works. One of the best releases I've heard in a while, and an excellent start for 2006. Amen!» - Bruno Barros
