dupont keeps making that minimal stuff which we all love him for. tracks which just keep moving, small arrangements, occasionally chewing on a 303. gotta love that almost audio-esque simpleton number 03. also introducing our latest schleudertrauma member and girlfriend of dupski, jennifer lowpass who donated a weird and a straight remix with a lot of schleudertraumatatabummbumm. ronald also dropped one in, which is pretty much of an oldschool cologne acid rave overture. one, two, three - techno! >>> http://www.rohformat.de/ & http://www.rohformat.de/st (hushhush, there are only a few copies of rfm001 - ronny pries - distant paths extracts 12" left.)
"rien a voir 15" is the brand new two track online ep by this well-known Canadian sound artist: 'Absolutely Ignorant' was inspired by an excerpt from the Venerable Bede's work " Ecclesiastical History of the English People" which focuses on the ultimate fallibility of human knowledge concerning the fundamental questions that confront us. "As Red as Rubies" is a reconstructed and extended excerpt of an as yet unreleased CD which explores sonifications around the ideas of alchemy. The fundamental concept of alchemy is transformation, whether literal or metaphor, physical or spiritual. 'As Red as Rubies' explores this though a dialog between processed and raw field recordings and other musical material.
The third release from canadian netlabel stratagem moves from minimal, melodic techno to electro tinged house. with 4 more quality tracks from dedicated producers worldwide, stratagem is quickly earning a reputation within the netaudio community for skillfully crafted compilations. stmnet003 includes songs by encrypted (stratagem, canada), andrew duke (phoniq /bip-hop /cognitionaudioworks, canada), liam o'leary (stratagem/ pentagonik/ canada), gregor heyden (stratagem/ pentagonik/ germany) & stefanos kourtis (sweetsmellingsounds, greece)
Just three months have passed since Herzog's last EP release at Serein, and we are delighted to welcome him back with the follow up, 'This time we're infinite'. Since his debut release I had been eagerly awaiting fresh material and I was not disappointed. This EP (which is perhaps closer to being a mini-album, at over thirty minutes in length) further builds upon Herzog's love of fragmented sound and gently unfolding rhapsodies. The pieces comprise of three shorter compositions, leaving the final eighteen minutes of 'Look at us only through microscopes now' until last. What makes this music so special is the artist's ability to surprise throughout, with a sound that borrows from the world of post-rock and folk through to French cinema, it is perhaps unsurprising that the result is so special.
Here's another great release from Sweden. This is the debut ep of Robin Rådenman aka The Winter Quarters, but it's not his only project, hopefully we'll hear more from him in the future. But for now here's Vid, a very fitting release considering the season cause when I look out my window, the ground, the houses, the trees are all covered in snow. So here's three beautiful tracks to keep you company these cold winter nights. These songs sweeps over you with their melodic drones accompanied with sparse glitches and noises and underneath it all a pulsating deep bass.
blue shimmery fall - pure celebrations of sound - something that is beautiful in its aesthetics, lively in its delivery, and leaves a profound feeling of exuberance with each listener and each track are a rare find in today's music world. this intangible something was achieved with love for music. though not as illustrious or memorable as the three abovementioned albums, jasper boer ascends to one of music's glorious heights with the new album "blue shimmery fall" on maetrix. the eleven tracks presented on "blue shimmery fall" are each swathed in elated soundscapes that are also grounded with a dynamic use of rhythm and percussion, as well as an ardent sense of melodic finesse. and, unlike nearly every release tagged as "electronica", jasper boer does not rely on the style's clichés, such as glitches or dsp-effects. despite each track featuring little or no vocal accompaniment, the compositions never feel underdeveloped or incomplete, as the instrumental ambience, textures, rhythmic interplay, minimal drones, and soaring melodies pack enough sound into "blue shimmery fall" that each moment is bursting with life and vivacity. enjoy listening!
