With his new piece the Paris-based sound artist Anton Mobin (Anthony Baron, *1979) does not compile a vague weather forecast, but alters the climate significantly. The composition appears to be traditional and the modern Click & Cut movement reconcile with the near-ground sounds found in Music Concrete._In this near-ground area the artist creates much more than factual statements of meteorology with statistics, investigations and average values. It becomes a micro-climate full of sounds, noises and sometimes scraps of conversations assembled to a clearly defined landscape. To a greater degree Mobin paints an imaginary terrain with a variety of textures, vegetation, existing development and temperature differences. All that has influence on the audible micro climate. Different colorations and various currents strain the imagination of the listener, but there is always free space for interpretation._And after all the quarter of an hour piece works like climatic changes do. Immediately._The composition based on source material recorded in 2008 on the peninsula of Croisic (Bretagne) and on the Ile du Frioul (South of France) and became part of the soundPOOL installation at SoundLAB VI._A limited edition CD-R will follow up at H.A.K. Lo-Fi Record.

After two years in anonymity, Anders Blickmann is now about to get his fair share of public recognition on his overgrowing productive mastery, having had some of his science remixed by south American artists (such as Oscar Chaves or Julie Amadeo), or just this Oceania EP.
What we have here is a hypnotic construct, repetitive and circular, where vocal elements carry us to a dimmer and most claustrophobic Oceania, quite different from that one on the postcards - especially Vanuatu and Samoa.
The sound textures overlap each other with perfect mastery, never neglecting the so much needed room for silence, and for that matter these 4 tracks create an audio addiction at the level of some of the most acclaimed producers of the so-called “minimal”, such as, for instance, Cook Islands.
Yet using a deep-rooted portuguese expression, there is more, and of top quality, in the
Blickmann archives, and much more is yet to come, productively speaking.
Praise all those who give him an international face, as Mimi Records is presently doing with this Oceania EP.

... And this is not only done by welcoming everyone, but also by breaking all boundaries bringing as much diversity as possible in the name of an ascending quality, and in that sense since the Music in this two sided-release is really good, then consequently a lot of really good people are here represented.
