RB061 - Glenn Ryszko - Machine

Last year Glenn Ryszko released his work "4.0 subtle distorted guitar drones" on Resting Bell as well as compilation-tracks for "SOUNDOFSLOWFLOW Vol.1" from Slow Flow Records and "listen" from duckbay. Now he comes up with his second Resting Bell-release called "Machine".

"Machine" is a sublime minimal drone work, inspired by abandoned industrial places. Glenn was born in a coal mining area, which was closed down even before he was born. Nevertheless he was surrounded by these old facilities and industrial monuments which inspire him to this creation.

The six tracks on "Machine" mainly consist of field recording and looped environmental sounds and looped tibetan bells. Both elements are processed and arranged with effects and software. Compared to the massive distorted work on "4.0 subtle distorted guitar drones" "Machine" is more minimal, less monumental. It has a really strong hypnotising and repetitive element, minimal drones on multiple layers and it is also a very rhythmic work.

Please enjoy this beautiful release.

Out now on ParaLucid netlabel: ART ABSCONs - "Spektral Magik"

"Irony is the clear consciousness of eternal agility, of an infinitely teeming chaos." (Friedrich Schlegel)

I come from the abyss of time and space. Life is abscons. Why not art? If a question is asked with the aim of confusing, the answer must disconcert the questioner. Each particle has its doppelganger at the other end of the universe to which it is linked by abscons forces. These particles act like mirror images. If one is capable of detecting the invisible strings which connect them, they can be brought together just by pulling those strings. Once they meet at the mirror surface, they become one, and the energy we so far obtain from thermo-nuclear fusion is ten times nothing in comparison to the energy obtained from the fusion of doppelganger entities. Such is the force of contradiction. Since the energetic strings which tie the universe together do not only run through space, but also through time, everything you do or think in the present is not only affecting the future but also the past. Each time you read a book, no matter how old, it will be written afresh and change its meaning. Each time you behold a flower it is you who creates it and who lends it beauty. It is the constant awareness of this creative capacity which constitutes the basis for Spektral Magik to which the correlation of spectral colours, musical notes, the visible objects in the solar system and the days of the week is an essential key.

We are proud to tell you that the Art Abscons' album "Spektral Magik" is now released! The album contains 7 songs, each made with pure passion enriched by the beautiful voice of Art Abscons and some very interesting collaborations.

[BP038] Phillip Wilkerson - Williams Park EP

Artist: Phillip Wilkerson
Title: Williams Park EP
Cat#: BP038
Date of release: 15 Jun, 2009
Styles: Ambient, Experimental, Glitch
Format: File, MP3, 320k

Williams Park is in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States. It is the city's first park and encompasses an entire city block between 4th and 3rd Streets North and between 2nd and 1st Avenues North. Founded in 1888 and originally named "City Park," it was changed to Williams Park in honor of the founder of St. Petersburg, John Constantine Williams Sr.

The park is the center of the downtown business district and has been the venue for numerous political and civic rallies and celebrations for more than one hundred years. In 1964, Richard Nixon used the bandstand to speak to a large group gathered in the park on behalf of then presidential candidate Barry Goldwater. Many downtown workers flock to the park in good weather for picnics during their lunch breaks. At one time, the park was surrounded by prestigious department and retail stores. In the past 25 years, most of them have moved away to malls and other areas away from the city center. The bandstand plays a prominent role in the park and one has been there since 1894.

The bandstand is still used for many outdoor concerts during the noon hour and on weekends, but for groups which tend to attract smaller crowds.

The park is also a haven to the city's homeless population.

[SFIRE003] Alfonso Tregua meets Zen Nihilistisch - The Cinematic Experiment

[SFIRE003] Alfonso Tregua meets Zen Nihilistisch - The Cinematic Experiment

SFIRE003 Thumbnail

Lights down.. Beautiful from the start, it flows well into the second track as if it was just meant to be. Buoyant and spacious, like chocolate with bubbles in. A gorgeous minimalist taste experience, as a cinematic experiment. Something akin to watching a film with your eyes closed. Some visuals retain their apparent solidity and movement even so. A curious circumstance in transcendentalism. Very nice track, pushes all the buttons on the desk, just nicely. Il vetro deformante, flows and bubbles similarly, though simultaneously being a world apart. Epic sound manipulation. A very good combination of artistic endeavour for sure, deep calls to deep, and here we end up with deeper still, with positive disproportion. Something Strange Between The Trees, is an everlasting truth to a tale. It is always there, and makes me think of a novel called Flicker, wherein the black part of film was the effective aspect. The antithesis being the apotheosis. Totally believable that such a combinatory effect should arise from this musical meshing. The Escape is all the bustle you might expect from such a scene. That it seems it could go on forever appears succinctly logical and descriptive of the new human condition. Then, it is over and we are left with such a perfect set of End Titles, you don't want to stand and leave. You want to go through it all over again. That's got to be a good sign!
