ca289 - Anton Mobin & Th-Th - A Hypnotic Versus Time

Photobucket

Anton Mobin : Micros + Larsenophone Thomas Thiery (TH-TH): Laptop + modular patch

Th-Th (Matohawk) and Anton Mobin, laud both a radical practice of the improvisation. They create an entity which grows rich of the contrast of the numeric treatments and synthesis of Th-Th and Anton Mobin's analogical manipulations. These two approaches converge on a hypnotic and totally intuitive intensity.

A Hypnotic Versus Time is a new improvised session by the two artists, and took place in the Maizing studio in Paris on May 20th, 2009 and diffused simultaneously on the webradio KKWNE.

An expansive collection of vintage and modern amps, cabinets and stompboxes make you sound like you're playing through legendary gear. And new live performance plug-ins let you record loops and trigger backing tracks when you’re on stage.

[ACP055] Isocore - Sugna

The second Isocore solo album is finally out after a long wait. Sugna means dirty, soggy, greasy, fat. Isocore's aim is to destroy music, destroy tempo, destroy. Strumming over hiphop reminiscent beats, battering keys like a 2 year kid would do to dancefloor anthems, Sugna is an intense experience..... Isocore is Paolo Elmo, producer and designer born in Rome, Italy 1983. He started to produce beats in 2001. In 2003, together with Pierlo, Jacques Malchance and Tracky Birthday, he founded the label Upitup Records (www.upitup.com) and started his live activity. From then to now he played in the most important clubs in Rome and at other shows around Italy, Germany and the UK, alongside artists like Team Doyobi, Ceephax Acid Crew, Tim Exile, Jason Forrest, Cylob, Milanese and Gescom, to name a few. From March 2009 he moved to Liverpool, where the album released here saw the light. His music, while preserving a distinctive style, is always shapeshifting from electro beats with deadly detuned synths, to dark ambient rap anthems and musique concrete, always with a ironic touch. 10 tracks total

Beatismurder.com bim18 - Model Warships - Merchant

Merchant is the debut full-length of Model Warships

-

the lo-fi, implosive solo songwriting project of Michael Waters.

Previously found honing his craft in groups ranging from ambient and noise to post-rock and folk, Model Warships represents the culmination of these disparate influences, blending pop structures with emotive vocals and experimental arrangements.

Beginning in late 2008 with a handful of simple guitar-driven songs, they gradually evolved and disintegrated in parallel with Waters's own trends in self-destruction. An album of catharsis and introspection, Merchant is recorded with a stark, lo-fi sound which imbues even the more plaintive corners of the album with an undercurrent of brutality and panic.

All words/music/recording by Michael Waters, except 'Bad Wolves' with words/music by Michael Waters and Natalie Guest.

For fans of Frog Eyes, Xiu Xiu, The Music Tapes, The Microphones/Mt Eerie, Sufjan Stevens.
