ronny pries from hamburg (.de) continues the journey heading to new sounds through better mixing skills. we already introduced the rohformat.de-headman with ramx006, but with his follow-up "mnmlsm118" he already goes two steps further. ronny shows us his longtime experience with the latest mixing software traktor 3.0 by native instruments, and built a long and flowing mix without pre-production. using new possibilities like on-the-fly-loops and consequently concentrating on netaudio, he bundled a wide selection of high quality minimal techno of today. get ready for the show!
The result is a an audio exploration of the vast flora and fauna that the majestic Scottish highlands offer, recreated by many field recordings taken, who form the plateau of these takes. Streaming water, the whistling of the cold and foggy wind, its cruising birds around who are barely whistling, the distant grumbling of clashing rain clouds and on top of all these particular moments of majestic silence - all of these original recordings redraw accurate layers of the true Scottish Highlands experience viewed from the eyes of an artistwho is looking for solitude.

Their beautiful songs consist of dreamy melodies and lush electronic grooves. A certain sense of melancholy and fragile romance lays underneath all songs. And then, additional playfulness and easy dubs are the ingredientsto provide sensual listening at its best. Though worth 71 minutes of music, the album can be described as a colourfully textured chapter of slowly morphing freeform electronic downbeats with a deep sense of introspection and solitude.

This project was born solely from the passion for music. One thing is certain: for us it was a pleasure both to create and play it, and we hope that it will be appreciated with a similar enthusiasm from the listener. It is certainly not a style that is easy to "digest", especially for those who have never heard this "new sound" before, but we present to you the challenge: we want you to try. When listening to our melodies you will certainly feel new sensations and new emotions. Perhaps you could then try and describe them to me. But because music exists to be listened to and not to be explained, I leave you to the possibility of appreciating our work, and hope you enjoy it.
