Famitracker

FamiTracker is a free windows tracker for producing music for the NES/Famicom-systems. The interface is based on MadTracker and should be easy to use if you've been using trackers before.

One of the features is NSF-file exporting. That allows music created in this tracker to be played on the real hardware, or even for for use in your own NES-applications.

Some other features:
  • Full real-time emulation of all channels
  • Internal PCM to DPCM-sample converter
  • MIDI input devices are supported
  • NTSC & PAL modes are both supported

[Uran97 #032]

K.Fog presents on his third EP on Uran97 three typical K.Fog style tracks. ;-) A kewl mix between grumpy beats, melancholic melodies and a portion of minimal. Hot stuff for hot days.

[tube044] Maina - Love them, Hate them

«Isaac Cordal, multidisciplinary plastic artist, member of the Alg-a community, has always featured a metamorphic affinity with the human body through his works, be it with photography (Ola Calma, 2004) or be it with sound installations (Re-poso, 2004). In this work, titled ‘Love them, Hate them’, Cordal accompanies himself by Maureen Kinnear, the voice that serves as a pendulum for the sampled sound oscillations which Isaac works on and filters out. In this EP, which takes us into the fantastic world of Antye Greie’s (AGF) e-poetry, and also to several cities, Maina sampled the most intimate and inhabited urbanity, the pain, the innocence, the screams and the revolt, which are here transformed and (re)created in a complete exercise of emotional self-closure.
The voice and the silence hand-to-hand, with the machine acting as language.» - Bruno Barros

Akira Kosemura - In A Distant Forest Somewhere EP [mtk167]

One of the first all-ambient releases on Monotonik in quite some time, this 3-track EP from relatively undiscovered Japanese artist Akira Kosemura is a beautifully naturalistic drift through what sounds like field recordings twinned with sweet sine waves melodies - reminiscent of anything from Lackluster at his most ambient to fellow Japanese Monotonik releaser Sabii.

░▒▓ transient ░▒▓ pxsswxrd ░▒▓ [nvr030] ********* :: pxsswxrd :: *a***o** 10 tracks :: 36mn41sc :: diverse!

<Knos> rather sharp, electronic sounding EP. Some fast tracks, some slow tracks, some glitchier than others. Some more ambient.

[mir021] Aeterna Anima - Where Is The End Of Voidism? [mir021]

From Russia comes Aeterna Anima, which is latin and means eternal soul. Aeternia Anima is an one-man project which aim is to show the importance of traditions through the music. Previously Aeterna has released two demos and been featured on an compilation. The music on "Where is The End of Viodism?" is quite straight forward dark ambient, with some nice twists. Along with the drones, bells and samples there's alot of vocals, sometimes spoken sometimes whispered. The repetative structures of the songs gives them a nice ritual sound.
