William Joines has produced a fine short film using sounds from the recent release "Stases" from Loscil. As if by definition the visual style and motionlessness shot list work perfectly with the music and vice-versa. The concept, "A girl passes time in her apartment waiting for her sleeping lover to leave" (delivered in 60 seconds) comes across as stark and sombre, nearly womb-like. From the settling dust in a window's early sunlight, static shots, and subtle passing moments, Goodbye Morning leaves an unmistakeable impression and like the music that accompanies it, this impression is vague, surrounding, and beautiful.

Sieve is back again with another incredible EP of dark moods and thoughts. 'Vacuum-Assisted' focuses a bit more on the overall texture of each track compared to the beat-heavy electronics of his previous Kikapu release, 'wave/particle.' But don't be fooled, there are still plenty of forceful, brooding rhythms scattered throughout this release, all with a foreboding, inexhaustible feeling to them. Yet this release cuts even deeper into your psyche as you listen, pushing you to the edge.
This piece was developed as a result of a series of interviews published by Binaural Media. These texts examined how various practitioners contextualised their work with environmental sound. Mark McLaren (co-curator of the excellent Sijis label and regular collaborator on Resonance FM) decided to test out some of the many ideas and questions that were generated during discussions with Marc Behrens, Yannick Dauby, Derek Holzer, Francisco López, Chris Watson and Julian Weaver. 'More Than Everything' tries to explore the relationship between songs and found sound. The starting point was a list of a 'top ten' records list drawn up last year by Jerilyn Jordan. Various processes were used to remove and obscure instrumental and vocal traces. These residues were then combined with concrete music, hertzian textures and sounds which can only be remembered but never recorded.

where passion beats since 1999
another guest artist, this time from the US. perhaps familar to some of you, nedavine creates good solid beats but with an abstract idm finish. some interesting harsh elements mixed in with more ambient polish creates a curious ep, a slight oddity but loads of variety, nonetheless an interesting addition to the collective. once again, mp3's are included in the zip file. enjoy!
