Matt Borghi - Johnson McCready'... 3" CD @ Kikapu

The second installment of our limited-edition Circle 3" cd series has now been released, Matt Borghi's 'Johnson McCready's Morning Breaks In and Settles'. Matt Borghi's contribution to this series is an epic track that should really be considered an EP or mini-album. Running the gamut from staticy, droning ambience through instrumental sections and then concluding in the best possible fashion with a vocal piece, this work will leave you speechless. Genre-naming and fellow artist comparisons are sure to follow, simply for the fact that this is such a bold step in a new direction, and won't be easy for most to classify or contain within a simple arrangement of words.

The music has been described as very accessible electronica with minimal down tempo beats and hot Cuban percussion (and vocals). "An excellent fusion of house and world - the buena vista social club meets mark farina...danceable and infectious".

[EGO201] Taiga Blues - Im Kleinen Kreis

For two years now, Legoego has been synonymous with high quality music on the internet. Designed as a promotion platform for artist from all over the world, the increasing hype around netlabels and podcasts helped it grow into a popular site for innovative and individual music full of personality and character. Over the past two years, Legoego has been able to support and give a home to many young talents, and on occasion even the odd well known veteran could be won over for the project. However, every boom involves sacrifices. In this case, the increasing number of music released under a Creative Commons License has brought with it an increase in poor quality releases. In this "release mania" everything that can be put out under the banner of a Creative Commons License is considered music or even art. As a result we are often left with nothing but randomness and overload. The term "netlabel" is turned into pure exhibitionism and undermines everything that is important to Legoego. It has always been crucial for Legoego to maintain a certain level of musical quality, which we will always define independently of musical genres or even cutting across genre boundaries. As such, safeguarding and developing this quality level is Legoego's top priority. This has made the following changes necessary for the future: All released tracks will still be available for free download as 128 kBit/s (common quality) coded files, i.e. in the most widely used MP3 resolution. Additionally, registered users will be given the opportunity to purchase all tracks in high resolution files of 320 kBit/s. This will enable the listener to show their appreciation for all the hard work and inspiration that goes into the works released on Legoego. Starting with the very guitar orientated and rock-y LP "Im kleinen Kreis" (EGO201) by Taiga Blues (Carsten Mandt), Legoego will initiate this next step of direct online distribution. Have Fun!

(PS013) [HS] - "Think About Us" EP

Do you remember 1993? Do you remember the parties, the music, the vibe? Do you remember the sampling and breakbeats and stab arpaggios? Do you remember hardcore? In the spirit of love (with a hint of darkness) PiSTON SOURCE presents two sides to a coin...As usual with PiSTON SOURCE releases, they are open source with the player available on the releases page. Enjoy. Remix on flip side by AGF.

Arete - Broken interface

Arete is one alias for the music of Mattias Andersson, focused on noise and broken sounds. "Broken Interface" was the product of exactly what the name implies; a broken preamp is the source of every sound on the album combined with an alesis bitrman and vocals through it. The bulk of this album was made in a two hour creativity rush where every nook and cranny of this broken interface through the bitrman was explored. The end result is a journey into an alien soundscape ranging from soft ambient to harsch noise.
