with this here flw003, not only does subco bring you yet another mixed ep, it's also the longest title of a release ever (so long, in fact, that the database had to be tweaked to accomodate it). "easily embarrassed" is the name given to this new project, and it's the joint effort of nick van der schilden and peter spaargaren (known for their plantbane project), in conjunction with nick's brother, jeffrey van der schilden, a.k.a. nekativ of dream wave project and trance-o-mania fame. with jeffrey, being the artist largely responsible for inspiring nick into making music, who in turn was largely responsible for inspiring peter into making music, now making his debut on subco together with -you know- nick and peter, things have come full circle in a way. a way spanning several years and a rather large full circle, that is. if you're not getting this, don't worry. it's just sprinkles of bonus info, wrapped into a nigh-incomprehensible sentence. sue me. anyway, enough with the chatter. the crux of the easily embarrassed project is the forging of laidback, chilled-out ambient music with a strong psychedelic vibe and influences from anything you could think of. and this is what's taking place, here, on this sweet 4-track mixed ep.

iD.032 - NK - Relectronic EP
On Relectronic, NK impressively shows us the difference between an inspired work and a mere quotation. With fine ears he isolates the characteristics of a huge variety of electronic music styles from 1990 on and combines the individual parts according to his tastes into kicking mixtures that render the question whether this is electrohouse, bigbeat-acid or ambient lounge-techno superflous.
iD.033 - Lash - Deelashious EP
Glamourous and seductive is the style in which our house-confectioner Lash is getting things done. Deelashious is like a box of the finest chocolates, that here and there taste like a whiff of trance, a hint of electro or a pinch of techno but always carry that big creamyness of house in their hearts. And since your legs won't be able to stand still from now on, this will on tops give some edge to your shape.
Nikita Golyshev & Sergey Letov
"Live at NCCA"
This is a live set of grandmaster of improv musiv and free-jazz, sax and flute multiinstrumentalist Sergey Letov, and experimental electronic artist Nikita Golyshev at National Centre for Contemporary arts in Moscow, Russia.
Deep drones and gentle noises, high pitched sines and scratches, glithes and field recordings with
sudden explosions of free saxophone.
One of the most beautifull examples of russian free art.
Music that becomes new every time you listen to it.
This is, believe it or not, the first Monotonik release for Kuu (formerly known as Substance, and definitively known as Finland's very own Joonas Vahamaki) since 1999 (!). But after a 7 year absence, we're delighted to welcome him back to the fold with the awesome 'Ioplus EP', 4 tracks of beautifully crunchy IDM.
Minimal ambient/folk landscapes. Guitar + delay effect.
